Woman pleads guilty to defrauding Department of Community Services

A 38-year-old woman from Sydney, N.S. has pled guilty to defrauding the Department of Community Services between July 2013 and March 2015.

Melissa Marie Rose, who is now living in Halifax, will face sentencing in June after pleading guilty to eight counts of fraud on Wednesday.

Rose was charged with fraud after failing to declare income while still receiving benefits. The fraud amounted to $14,412.
