The City of Winnipeg is warning drivers to ignore emails claiming unpaid parking tickets.

The city’s parking authority is reminding drivers that it only issues parking tickets by hand or by mail, not electronically. If Winnipegger’s should see parking tickets arriving by email and they look like they’re coming from the City of Winnipeg, authorities are warning people not to pay the ticket.

Anybody receiving electronic parking tickets via email should report the phishing scam to the Canada Anti-Fraud Centre.
