Windsor police seek fraud suspect

July 9, 2021 – Windsor police in Ontario are asking for the public’s help identifying a man they suspect deposited multiple fake cheques at local banks on May 3.

Police began investigating the fraudulent cheques in June and investigators believe fake identification was also used during the incidents. Police believe the male suspect may have then travelled to the London area around May 14 or 15.

There is a “strong possibility” the suspect is not from Windsor-Essex and may have only been in the area for a short time, police said.

Anyone who has information that may help identify the suspect, or who may have dealt with him, is asked to contact police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4330. Should you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS) or www.catchcrooks.com.
