Update: charges laid in counterfeit American currency cases

The Financial Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division has charged a Halifax man in connection to numerous reports of counterfeit American bills being used in local businesses in our area.

Shortly after 11 a.m. on March 28, investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 600 block of St. Margaret’s Bay Road. The male occupant of the vehicle was arrested at the scene without incident and held in police custody overnight.
