Two of three Medicine Hat pharmacists charged with fraud, theft have trial date set

A multi-day trial will run in the new year for two of three Medicine Hat, Alta. pharmacists facing charges of fraud and theft.

A trial date has been set for Kathryn Keiser and Evan King for late January, 2018, now that not guilty pleas have been entered.

A trial for the third pharmacist, Robert Stadnyk, has been set for September 5.

All three individuals are facing fraud charges over $5,000 and theft over $5,000, stemming from allegations that they received rebates and incentive payments to the sum of $1.6 million directly through negotiating drug purchases.

Keiser, King and Stadnyk all worked at pharmacies owned by the Medicine Hat Co-op, and have since had their employment terminated.
