West Kelowna RCMP were called to a local business for a suspected fraud involving a man and a woman.
The investigation revealed a 23-year-old woman and her 30-year-old accomplice had obtained a credit card in someone else’s name and went on a shopping spree. The man was arrested inside the store and the woman was arrested in the parking lot after leaving the store.
The duo spent the night in jail and appeared in court on September 13 to face a variety of charges including identity theft, identity fraud, impersonation and obstruction of justice.
Both of the accused are from out of province and are believed to have committed similar crimes elsewhere.
