Toronto police say they’re looking into several cases of homeowners being defrauded by individuals posing as roofing experts.

Since March, five cases of the alleged fraud have been reported to police.

In two cases, police say the suspects knocked on the doors of homeowners and told them their roof needed repairs. They then took payment in advance, but in the end never actually fixed anything.

Police say two other homeowners refused to pay the suspects for fear of a scam.

Toronto police say they are looking for a man and a woman.
