Toronto man wanted for falsely identifying himself as a police officer

Toronto police are currently searching for a man who falsely identified himself as a police officer to an elderly woman to obtain money from her.

Officers reported that an 87-year-old woman received a phone call from a woman who spoke in Polish. The elderly woman was advised that a relative had been injured and a police officer would come to collect money from her. Shortly thereafter, a man, who identified himself as police, came to her house and took money from her.

Investigators advise the community that police officers do not accept money from citizens.
