Surrey police require assistance identifying fraudster

Surrey, BC RCMP is appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying a cheque fraud suspect.

The victim noticed that an unusually large cheque had been cashed against his account for over $7,000. The victim contacted his bank and the Surrey RCMP learned that the victim had left his cheque book unattended at a local retail store for a few minutes before returning to collect it.

Since the initial complaint, RCMP investigators have obtained surveillance footage of a suspect cashing a cheque against the victim’s account.
