Stettler duo tries to purchase tires with fraudulent money order

A Stettler, Alta. duo was arrested after allegedly purchasing approximately $18,000 worth of tires from a Stettler Kal-Tire using a fraudulent money order.

Claudia Navarrete, a 29-year-old, was charged with one count of fraud and is scheduled to appear in a Red Deer court on September 12.

Chad Wandler, 33, has been charged with uttering a forged document, fraud and other charges related to the incident. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 14.

A $6,000 trailer was recovered at the scene that had been determined to have been purchased using a stolen credit card.
