Smithers RCMP are warning the public to be vigilant of another Revenue Canada fraud

A number of citizens have received phone calls or emails from sources identifying themselves as Revenue Canada affiliates. The callers offer additional tax refunds for the 2015 year, or demand immediate payment of overdue taxes.

These contacts are a scam; never provide any personal or banking information. The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre advises consumers not to open unsolicited emails or when the sender is unknown. Read more about the report here.
