An 18-year member of Halton police has been arrested and charged with fraud following a two-year investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Halton police say that in February 2023, the OPP’s anti-rackets branch started an investigation following multiple complaints of fraud about an investment scheme.
As a result of the investigation, Sgt. Jon Williams and two others, with no police connections, were charged with fraud over $5,000.

As per the Community Safety and Policing Act, Williams has been suspended from duty with pay.
