Former Lambton County nursing home employee charged with fraud over $5,000

After a year-long investigation, Kelly Rooney, a former employee of a Lambton long-term care home has been arrested for allegedly defrauding the county of more than $50,000.

Lambton OPP say they received a complaint about a former employee of the North Lambton Lodge in Forest on January 3, 2017.

Police say as a result of a complex and exhaustive investigation, 46-year-old Rooney of Forest was arrested on December 17.

Rooney is charged with fraud over $5,000, breach of trust, possession of proceeds obtained by crime and theft under $5,000.

The fraud is alleged to have occurred between January 2006 and December 2016.
