Ridgeway woman arrested after cruise fraud investigation

Niagara Regional Police have laid fraud charges against a woman from Ridgeway, a small village in Fort Erie, Ont., after receiving more than 140 complaints about money being accepted for cruises that were either never booked or were different as advertised.

The complaints alleged Karen Gushue, also known as Karen Robinson and Karen Hannis, solicited funds between August 2016 and February 2017 for cruises.

Gushue, 48, has been charged with one count of fraud over $5,000 and one count of fraud under $5,000.
