There have been a number of recent reports of people receiving emails from sources identifying themselves as Canada Post or FedEx. The scam is aiming to access into the victims’ computer and obtain personal information.
Unauthorized access to obtain personal information
The emails advise customers that they have a package that needs to be picked up and more information is available by clicking on the attached link. However, by clicking on the link attached in the email, this may provide unauthorized users access into your computer and to your personal information. The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre advises consumers not to open unsolicited emails or when the sender is unknown.
