Police arrest Hamilton man after fake pro wrestling gear sold online

July 26, 2021 – Hamilton police have arrested a local man after multiple reports of fraudulent professional wrestling memorabilia being sold online to buyers outside Canada.

“Fans of the pro wrestling community beware,” Hamilton police said in a media release Friday.

The major fraud unit has been investigating the reports since February. Last Monday, they arrested Jacob Miranda, 29, charging him with two counts of fraud over $5,000, fraud under $5,000 and failure to comply with probation.

Police say Miranda is “active on pro wrestling social media sites” and that, although he uses his photograph online, he has used multiple pseudonyms.
