Peterborough teen arrested for defrauding grandparents

Two Peterborough, Ont. teenagers have been arrested for defrauding one of their grandparents.

On July 20, 2017 police received a complaint regarding numerous unauthorized withdrawals that had been made to the victim’s bank account in June and July. The total value of the fraud is approximately $2,860.

Two suspects were identified through a police investigation. The victim’s 15-year-old granddaughter and the granddaughter’s 15-year-old boyfriend.

The two teenagers were placed under arrest and charged with fraud under $5,000.

Both are scheduled to appear in court in September.
