Penny Patterson was arrested Monday following allegations she collected rent from several tenants in Cornwall, Ont. as an employee of a property management company.
The 46-year-old Etobicoke resident allegedly provided rent receipts for money that she collected, but did not forward the money to the property management company between November 2015 and March 2016.
In July 2016, police were contacted and an investigation into the alleged fraud was initiated.
Patterson was subsequently charged with seven counts of fraud under $5,000 and seven counts of uttering a forged document.
She was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
