P.E.I. RCMP warn of fraudsters pretending to be investigators

Feb. 24, 2021 – Police have recently caught fraudsters pretending to be investigators and requesting people buy gift cards. After the cards are purchased, the numbers are provided and can be redeemed from anywhere online. The RCMP remind the public they would never ask someone to purchase gift cards to assist in an investigation and to be diligent in protecting their identity and finances.
