OPP arrest Smooth Rock Falls woman in fake fentanyl patch scam

A 65-year-old woman from Smooth Rock Falls, Ont. has been arrested and charged with numerous fraud-related offences after an investigation into a Northern Ontario fentanyl scam.

The woman allegedly submitted counterfeit fentanyl patches to a local pharmacy, according to police. The counterfeits were then exchanged for new fentanyl patches.

The woman is scheduled to appear in a Cochrane, Ont. court later in November.
