Oil field training scam targets two Peterborough students

Two students from Fleming College in Peterborough, Ont. fell prey to a scammer who claimed to offer specialized training for those looking to work in the oil fields in western Canada.

The two students paid $800 each for what they believed was going to be specialized training at a Lindsay area gravel pit. However, when they arrived at the pit, nobody was there. The men began to investigate and discovered the course was fraudulent, and their money was lost.
