Man wanted for Kijiji online fraud

Ottawa (August 06, 2019) – The Ottawa Police Service Organized Fraud Unit is looking for information on a man who is charged with 33 counts of fraud.

A warrant has been issued for Patrick Vaudrin of Ottawa. The 40-year-old man is described as a Caucasian male, 5’10 (178cm), 210 pounds (95kgs). He has brown hair, blue eyes and wears glasses. The police report states thaty they believe that Vaudrin is currently located between Ottawa/Gatineau and the Montreal area.

The police have received complaints since September 2018 about an online scam on Kijiji with victims throughout Canada. The suspect allegedly advertised collectible toys for sale on the online platform Kijiji. The potential buyers were instructed to send an email cash transfer to purchase the goods. The email transfer would be collected by the suspect but the items for sale were never in his possession and no purchased products were handed over.
