Hamilton police warn about trending ‘grandparent scam’

Hamilton Police Services has identified a scam that’s increasing in popularity called the ‘Grandparent Scam.’

A scammer calls and tells the victim that it’s their grandchild or another family member and they need help because they’ve been in an accident. Scammers are instructing the victim to purchase iTunes gift cards in varying denominations.
