Guelph bank teller recognizes ID, foils alleged attempt to open fraud account

March 18, 2021 – Guelph police say a 31-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged attempted bank fraud. In a release, police say the man went into a bank in the city’s west end on March 5, and tried to open an account using ID that wasn’t his. However, police say “the employee recognized the name on the ID being presented and knew it was not the male in the branch.” Guelphmercury.com reports. | READ MORE
