Gatineau police seek help to identify suspect in ID theft, bank fraud

Police in Gatineau, QC are seeking public assistance to help and identify a man who is believed to be involved in identity theft and bank fraud.

The accused claimed to have lost his bank card and presented two pieces of identification. The teller then issued a new bank card to the man, and cancelled the old card in the process.

The man then allegedly went to several businesses around Ottawa where he made multiple purchases and cash withdrawals.

The man is described as being around 50-years-old with a medium build.
