March 10, 2021 – A rightly skeptical Prescott resident hung up the phone last week rather than fall victim to the “Bank Investigator Fraud,” provincial police reported. The Ontario Provincial Police’s Grenville County detachment is investigating the suspected fraud attempt. On Friday, a resident told police she had become suspicious after receiving a telephone call from someone claiming to be from her credit card company, the OPP reported Tuesday.
