Brandon, Man. police have launched a fraud investigation following complaints about a cancelled home-based business and trade show.

Police said on Wednesday that three complaints have been received from people who signed up for the event, which was scheduled to be held in Brandon in November.

A number of people claim to have sent money via e-transfer to a person who was soliciting vendors for the show.

The show was supposed to take place at a hotel in the city. However, the hotel’s manager said the organizer didn’t pay and the booking was cancelled after they weren’t able to reach him.
