The Edmonton Food Bank issued a warning on Friday about potential fraudulent door-to-door donation collectors.
In a news release, the Food Bank advised that any approved collectors will never ask for monetary donations at someones door, instead they will only ask for non-perishable food items.
The organization also posts collection events online so Edmontonians can be aware of when these door-to-door collections are taking place.
Tamisan Bencz-Knight, manager of strategic partnerships, said they are not aware of door-to-door fraud under their name this year, but want to protect the public about the potential of fraudulent collection.
