Drayton, Ont. police are warning residents about a “lottery scam” after a senior was defrauded of $12,000.

The victim was told that a prize of $3.5 million and an exotic car were won and they needed to pay a tax on the winning lottery prize. The senior had already transferred $12,000 to the fraudster before bank employees became suspicious.
