The Crown is to call its final witness on Tuesday at the Contrecoeur fraud trial of Frank Zampino, the former No. 2 politician at Montreal city hall, and five other people.
The last person on the prosecutors’ list of about 50 witnesses is an expert on government calls for tender.
The trial, which began before Court of Quebec Judge Yvan Poulin 16 months ago, is then expected to spend Thursday and Friday hearing arguments by the defence and the prosecution on a string of outstanding objections before the floor is turned over to the defence to call its own witnesses.
