May 7, 2021 – A man once on Niagara Region’s “most wanted” list was sentenced recently in Brantford’s Ontario Court for stealing construction equipment from a local rental business. Brody Racine, 40, pleaded guilty to theft over $5,000 when he appeared before Justice Kathleen Baker, who sentenced him to four months concurrent with the penitentiary sentence Racine is already serving for other crimes.
He was charged with multiple counts of fraud over $5,000 and under $5,000, theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property. Last December, Racine was convicted by a St. Catharines judge, who said he was “a man without shame” after stealing more than $280,000 in home renovation scams.
