Burnaby man charged with running sweepstakes scam

Feb. 16, 2021 – A Burnaby, B.C., man, who police say was running a Publishers Clearing House scam in the Lower Mainland, has been charged with four counts of fraud over $5,000. Joel Kibangula, 27, was charged on Jan. 29 and is due to appear in Port Coquitlam Provincial Court on March 1. Coquitlam RCMP says at least four people were duped by a phone scammer into thinking they were Publishers Clearing House winners. Vancouver Sun reports. | READ MORE
