Burlington man, 47, arrested in connection with $1.6-million fraud

March 29, 2021 – A Burlington man is facing multiple fraud-related charges after $1.6 million in investment funds was allegedly misappropriated.

The Halton Regional Police Service Fraud Unit said the man was an investment industry professional who worked for a financial company that was registered with the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC). Between 2011 and 2016, two victims reportedly invested a total of approximately $1.6 million with the accused to purchase insurance and other investments. Inside Halton reports. | READ MORE
