Bonnyville RCMP sexual assault investigation results in more charges being laid

On Jan. 25, 2022, Bonnyville RCMP laid additional charges against the 44-year-old male of Bonnyville.

Charges have been laid resulting from investigations of allegations by additional victims.

He is further charged with the following:

  • Fraud
  • Extortion
  • Criminal Harassment (x2)

On Jan. 26, 2022, he appeared at provincial court for a judicial hearing. He was released with additional conditions.

He is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Feb. 22, 2022.

Due to a publication ban no additional information can be released.

The investigation by Bonnyville RCMP is still ongoing and they are seeking those that may have been victimized by the 44-year-old male or under his known aliases of “Lucas Kennedy” or “Lucas Jacknife.”

“Bonnyville RCMP conclude 10 month long sexual assault investigation with charges and seeking public assistance

Bonnyville, Alta – On Jan. 13, 2022, Bonnyville RCMP executed a search warrant at the residence of 44-year-old male in Bonnyville. For the past 10 months, Bonnyville RCMP have been investigating allegations that a male used various aliases online to gain access to a number of victims and commit sexual offences.

As a result of this investigation, a 44-year-old male of Bonnyville was arrested on Jan. 13, 2022, and charged with the following offences:

  • Sexual assault
  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Extortion

Following a judicial hearing, he was released on cash bail and a number of conditions that include: not to possess any weapons, not to have a computer in his home, to only use the telephone function on his phone except for work purposes. He is scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Feb. 22, 2022.

Bonnyville RCMP are asking anyone who has given money to the 44 year old male or feels they may have been victimized in any other way by him or under his known aliases of “Lucas Kennedy” or “Lucas Jacknife”, to contact the Bonnyville RCMP.
