Barrie fraudster arrested five years after scam

After five years of searching for a Barrie fraudster, police finally caught up with him after the man deboarded a plane in Toronto from Vancouver.

The suspect, who was 18 at the time, had a Canada-wide warrant out for his arrest after his connection to a credit card scam. The man allegedly purchased gift cards online using five different credit cards in the names of American citizens.

The man was charged as a youth with using credit card data, possession of property obtained by crime and fraud under $5,000.
