Bail hearing underway for Canadian accused in Yahoo hack

A bail hearing is underway in Hamilton, Ont. for Karim Baratov, a Canadian charged by American authorities in connection with a massive Russian hacking scheme.

Baratov awaits extradition to the United States where he has been indicted on charges of aggravated identity theft and conspiring to commit fraud. If convicted, the 22-year-old faces up to 20 years in prison.

Baratov allegedly had a hand in the hack of about 500 million Yahoo accounts beginning in 2014.
